The
new computer hardware and software
offered
by Fishers lets their side scan
system
output to both a high resolution 17"
wide
thermal printer and aslo a computer,
providing
the best of both worlds.
The
computer system gives the side scan
operator
a variety of options for displaying and enhancing
the
sonar image.The software allows selection of several
different
color schemes, enlargement of
targets,
and manipulation of side scan
controls
such as slant range correction and
water
column removal. In addition, the
computer
system will accept data input
from
other devices. GPS position
information
can be sent to the PC for
display
and storage along with the side scan data. Position coordinates,
target
size and height are displayed with a click of the mouse.
